Name of test What it measures Target range

Intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH)

Amount of PTH, for calcium balance and bone health

  • 16 to 65 pg/mL for healthy people
  • 35 to 70 pg/mL for Stage 3 CKD
  • 70 to 110 pg/mL for Stage 4 CKD
  • 150 to 300 pg/mL for Stage 5 CKD

Calcium-phosphorus product (Ca x P)

Risk of developing calcium phosphate crystals

  • less than 55 for people with kidney disease and over age 12
  • less than 65 for children 12 years and under
